DRAFT A Tale of Two Hemispheres — Character Attributes

With these images, I’ll have put up 99 pages. Am I keeping your interest? Do you feel like you understand what I’m trying to say?

* I say that which traits you get are as random as a roll of the dice. But on PAGE 67, I say that there are several genes that influence dyslexia, and that it runs in families. These are the more true statements.
Because dyslexia is genetic, it runs in families, which makes it more likely in some people than in others. Each gene that influences dyslexia is either turned on or off, and the different combinations of genes produce traits that influence the range of reading ability from fluent to dyslexic, and all the variations we’ve seen. On or off can come up for any trait.
That means that the traits you get are as random as a roll of a weighted dice — some combinations of on and off are more likely than others.

  1. Fascinating, Amy. Genetics are…complicated-to say the least.

    1. What I love about this section is that it shows how individual we all are by just scrambling a few traits. And of course, we are all made of hundreds if not thousands of these traits. They are what makes us who we are!
