Spring is coming …

Spring is coming …

February is always a hard month, but this year has been a little tougher than others. My husband and I have each had non-life-threatening medical problems (covid for me and joint replacement for him), both dogs have injured their legs, and major snow storms for each of the past three weeks, have all begun to wear on my natural optimism.

This week I’ve finally had that wonderful confluence of enough time and returning energy to take the poor housebound dogs for a walk. There was still plenty of ice on the sidewalks as the drifts of snow melt off.

But there was also a little bit of green beneath the snow…

And a few birds are beginning to practice their mating calls…

You know that I’m ready for warmer temperatures when even the hammering of flickers on the outside of the house lifts my spirits.

  1. Hi Amy, sorry to hear you’ve been dealing with so much! I hope you’re taking it easy after having covid and that your husband’s healing well. And the poor doggos! These photos are all lovely and it makes me smile wondering if that robin, towhee, and flicker have also visited my yard.

        1. Thank you Tracy! And thank you Monika! WordPress is combining my responses, I’ll say thank you to both of you in one reply.

But the sun is shining, one dog is ambulatory, and we will be going for a walk soon. Life is better. Thank you.

  2. Sorry to hear the ‘Rona visited you. Talk about annoying. You were missed at yesterday’s volunteer lunch. Hope your husband’s recovery goes smoothly (and quickly) and you are able to get out and enjoy the subtle signs of Spring’s return. Have a great weekend.

      1. That’s a positive step in the right direction. Enjoy a beautiful day and give the pupsters a nice ear rub from me.
