A Day Shooting Birds at The Reservoir

My friend and I took a walk around the reservoir today. Of course I took my camera.

As a coming-out-of-covid present to myself, I bought a new, big lens a year ago. I do okay with it when it is on a tripod, but what fun is that?

On the other hand, I’m still not very good with holding it without support.

But I did get a decent shot of an osprey soaring across the lake. My smaller lens wouldn’t have done as well.

Mid distance Osprey beating its wings.

La la la la la … it’s a wonderful day to be an osprey over the lake …

Until you run into an angry red-winged blackbird. Then, it’s no contest.

I could just hear the osprey thinking “Alright already! I’m leaving! I’m leaving!”

Think I’ll have to go back to the reservoir soon to see if the osprey ever returns.

  3. A  red-winged blackbird intimated that big osprey? Well that’s a surprise to me. Glad you had a good walk about the reservoir. I’m right jealous of your big lens. Enjoy it on your next outing.
